Welcome to APTA's PT CPI Web site which was officially launched on July 15, 2008. This national web site is used to manage, complete and compile data about physical therapist student clinical performance. This page serves as a registration site for those Physical Therapist (PT) programs that wish to begin using the updated PT Clinical Performance Instrument (CPI) but have not yet informed the vendor - Academic Management Systems (AMS) - of their intent.


PT CPI Web allows students to self-assess their clinical performance throughout the clinical education experience, with formal documentation required at mid- and final evaluation periods. The Clinical Instructor (CI) can formally evaluate the student’s performance using APTA's 18 performance criteria, as well as enter comments about the student's progress throughout the clinical experience. This Web site also serves as a central point of communication between the ACCE/DCE, CCCE, CI and student. The ACCE/DCE can track the progress of all students in their program at a glance during clinical education experiences. The CCCE will be able to track the progress of all CI’s conducting student clinical education experiences at their clinical site.



PT CPI Web became available for all Physical Therapist program clinical experiences on July 15th, 2008. ACCEs/DCEs and Program Directors are invited to register their programs below if they would like to learn more about the new PT CPI Web program. Registration serves to inform APTA and AMS of their intention to use this web-exclusive, PT CPI. Programs that register are then contacted by an AMS representative and arrangements are made to walk through the program at a convenient time. Programs are invoiced only when they decide to start using the web site. Registration alone does not lead to billing.
